Michael joined Health Catalyst in June 2017 as a data scientist. His focus is on developing and delivering hands-on instruction in R and machine learning to help analysts adopt tools to maximize outcomes improvements. Prior to joining Health Catalyst, Michael was a Fellow at Insight Data Science where he built a machine learning platform to assess business-to-business relationship health. He earned his PhD at the University of California, Davis, conducting computational social science research on sustainable agriculture using network analysis and Bayesian mixed models. During his PhD, Michael also taught data analysis and statistics at universities and businesses throughout the United States.
