Kory Anderson is the Medical Director of Physician Advisor Services, CDI, and recently some aspects of the Quality Department. In this role Kory has responsibility for physician utilization review, clinical documentation integrity, physician education and physician appeals and denials, with the recent addition of quality performance and reporting across the Intermountain Organization.
Kory is a Hospitalist at one of Intermountain Healthcare’s trauma facilities. He has worked at Intermountain for 14 years. He has participated in several initiatives focused on improving patient care including; Antibiotic Stewardship, Peer Review Committees, Population Health Committee and Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics. Kory has enjoyed opportunities to serve in leadership roles at McKay-Dee Hospital as the Medical Director for the Pulmonary Rehab Clinic, Anticoagulation Clinic, Hospitalist Department, Chief of Department of Medicine and currently is the Medical Staff President Elect.
Kory has worked for Intermountain Physician Advisor Services since 2012 in the Utilization Review and Appeals and Denials divisions. Kory was one of the initial physicians hired into the department. He has helped build the program through serving as a lead and mentor to other physician advisors. Kory is passionate about this work and the value this service brings in healthcare. Kory is an active participant in the physician advisor industry and has presented at multiple physician advisor and healthcare conferences and forums.
