Cate Ranheim, MD, serves as the UnityPoint Health system medical director for hospitalist programs and the medical director of the Meriter Antithrombotic Service in Madison, Wisconsin. She is a trustee of the UnityPoint Health Board of Directors and practices as an internal medicine hospitalist and hematologist at Meriter Hospital, having done her medical school, residency and fellowship training at the University of Wisconsin. As chair of the Inpatient Medicine Clinical Services Group, she oversees a system wide initiative to reduce variation in clinical care delivery across UnityPoint Health.
Previously, she has served as President of the Medical Staff and Chair of the Medical Executive and Medical Peer Review Oversight Committees at Meriter Hospital, as well as serving on the boards of directors of both Meriter Health Services and SustanDane. She has been recognized several times as a Top Doctor in both hospital medicine and hematology and is the founder of the Helping Educated and Link the Homeless (HEALTH) Program, a street medicine and case management program in Dane County, Wisconsin.
