"This is the first time I have attended HAS. It has been wonderful, and good to interact with so many bright individuals in the industry."
Expanding Your Outcomes
Last year, HAS focused on the journey to outcomes improvement. This year, HAS will focus on helping attendees learn how to achieve a wider variety of clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. We will present a framework highlighting the successful components of outcomes improvement including analytics, best practices, adoption, agile leadership, and financial alignment.
We will have nationally known keynote speakers from healthcare and other industries worthy of emulation, 30 breakout sessions with technical, clinical, operational, and leadership tracks, and more time and tools for networking. And of course, we will continue with having some fun, interactive “ah-ha” experiences supplemented by our next version of the HAS event app with interactive questions and real time polling, session analytics, prizes and awards.
Featured Keynotes & Speakers
We are again featuring a nationally known set of keynote speakers covering a diverse set of topics including leading health system analytics case studies, non-healthcare industry case studies providing inspiration to healthcare, thought-provoking leadership best practices, and our annual documentary featuring inspirational patient and health system stories. And new this year, we’ve asked Tom Burton to create a next-generation version of his popular “Price is Right” breakout session that we will now move to the general session for all enjoy.
6 Reasons to Attend HAS
Industry Leading Keynote Speakers
We’ll hear from well-known healthcare industry champions like Don Berwick (former head of IHI and CMS), as well as 3-4 other healthcare executives to be announced. We’ll compare the analytics advancements in the criminal justice system with possible advancements in healthcare by hearing from Anne Milgram, former attorney general of New Jersey. And by popular demand, we’ve invited two of last year’s top rated breakout speakers to present in general sessions to the entire audience.
CME Accreditation For Clinicians
HAS 16 will again qualify as a continuing medical education (CME) activity. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.*
Improved "How-to" Case Study and Technical Breakout Sessions
You asked for more tangible “how to” breakout sessions. So we’ve increased the breakout session times to give more time for detailed “how to” learning while also extending the question and answer time. We’ve added a new technical track for technical experts who want to go into deeper details. And we’ve added a greater variety of clinical, operational, financial, and leadership case study breakouts.

The Analytics Walkabout
Back by popular demand, the Analytics Walkabout will feature 32 new projects highlighting a variety of additional clinical, financial, operational, and workflow analytics and outcomes improvement successes. This casual setting will allow you the opportunity to meet the project leaders, hear their stories, and ask questions in an up close and personal way. This year, we’ll add laptops and screens to the stations to allow the presenters to share more information, screen shots, results, and when available, live demos to better answer your questions.
Analytics-driven, Hands-on Engagement for Teams and Individuals
Analytics will continue to flow through the three-day summit touching every aspect of the agenda. We will introduce our next generation of the HAS event application for each attendee, with improvements in real-time polling, Q&A, networking, prizes, and recognition. We’ll use real-time data and analytics to guide and enhance the summit as a symbolic microcosm of how data can be used daily in healthcare to improve outcomes.
Networking and Fun
We heard you last year. You told us we packed so much into the agenda that you wanted more time to relax and connect with others. We’ll provide more opportunities to network and have fun downtime experiences, including longer breaks, more fun run and walk opportunities, a night on the town, and some fun and games including your favorite retro arcade games…stay tuned for more information.
